https://ejournal.iainmadura.ac.id/index.php/sociale/article/view/22366

The low critical thinking ability of grade VIII-A SMPN 2 Pamekasan students in social studies subjects is characterized by difficulties in solving high-level cognitive problems, low activeness in learning, and inability to relate material to real-life contexts. This study aims to determine the improvement of students' critical thinking skills through the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model with video media. The research uses the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method with a mixed method approach which is carried out in two cycles, each including the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subject of the study is 33 students of class VIII-A SMPN 2 Pamekasan for the 2024/2025 school year. Data collection techniques include observation of teacher and student activities, critical thinking ability tests, and documentation. The research instruments are in the form of observation sheets and test questions based on Facione's critical thinking indicators, namely interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference. Data analysis was carried out descriptively, quantitatively, and qualitatively. The results showed that the application of the CTL model with video media was able to improve students' critical thinking skills, which was shown by an increase in classical completeness from 52% in the pre-cycle to 67% in the first cycle and 85% in the second cycle. Teacher and student activities have also increased significantly. Thus, the CTL model assisted by video media is effectively used in social studies learning.
Nur Sari HidayatiAhmad Imam Khairi

https://ejournal.iainmadura.ac.id/index.php/sociale/article/view/23599

The rapid development of digital technology has made the internet an integral part of Generation Alpha adolescents’ daily lives. While the internet provides educational resources, access to information, and entertainment, uncontrolled use may lead to negative consequences such as digital addiction, exposure to inappropriate content, and reduced social interaction. This study aims to analyze the role of parenting styles in shaping healthy internet behavior among Generation Alpha adolescents in Laden Village, Pamekasan District. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach involving 10 informants consisting of parents and adolescents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that 70% of parents applied an authoritative parenting style, 20% authoritarian, and 10% permissive. Adolescents raised with authoritative parenting demonstrated healthier internet behaviors, such as time management, selective content access, and ethical online interaction. The study concludes that authoritative parenting, characterized by supervision, open communication, and positive role modeling, is the most effective approach in fostering responsible and healthy internet use among Generation Alpha adolescents in rural digital contexts.
Qotrunnada Dwi MulyanaMuhammad Hadiatur Rahman

https://ejournal.iainmadura.ac.id/index.php/sociale/article/view/23646

Cooperation is an essential component of character education and one of the core dimensions of the Profil Pelajar Pancasila. However, in daily classroom practice among seventh-grade students at MTs Riyadul Ulum Bicorong, this value had not been fully reflected, as many students preferred to work individually and were not accustomed to collaborative learning. Through the implementation of a pop-up book project in Social Studies learning, noticeable positive changes emerged in students’ social behavior, including increased cooperation, empathy, and shared responsibility. This study aims to describe the process of cultivating collaborative character through the pop-up book project and to examine the condition of students’ cooperative character after participating in the activity. This research employed a qualitative case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, validated through triangulation of sources and methods. The findings indicate that cooperative values developed naturally through group discussions, task distribution, and mutual assistance during the project and continued to appear in students’ daily learning activities. Thus, the pop-up book project proved effective in fostering cooperative character in Social Studies learning
Raudatul JannahA. Fatikhul Amin Abdullah

https://ejournal.iainmadura.ac.id/index.php/sociale/article/view/24136

The purpose of this study was to develop flipbook-based teaching materials for social studies lessons for eighth-grade students at MTs Negeri 2 Malang. This research is important to do because it can answer problems related to the limited number of printed learning resources in schools, UKBM sources and the like that explain more towards theory than practice so that they create a boring classroom climate, and the limitations of creative learning media used by teachers. Research using Researh and Development method or development research using ADDIE stages, namely analyze (analysis), design (designing), development (creating), implementation (applying), and evaluation (evaluating). The feasibility validation test was collected using a 1-5 scale questionnaire with details from not feasible, less feasible, quite feasible, feasible, and very feasible. The validation test was conducted by two experts who understand learning materials. The results of the feasibility validation test of teaching materials consist of the feasibility of content, language, and presentation conducted by validator 1 and validator 2 explaining that the interpretation of the feasibility of flipbook teaching materials can be declared very feasible. The results of responses from students which include learning components, quality, function, and appearance are declared very good. So that flipbook-based teaching materials developed to overcome the lack of teaching materials in social studies subjects can make students better at accessing material.
Nur Zharifah RamadhaniBunga MaharaniQonita Rahma Zahira

https://ejournal.iainmadura.ac.id/index.php/sociale/article/view/24090

Social Studies (IPS) learning at the junior high school level still faces the problem of low students' conceptual understanding, which is indicated by students' lack of ability to relate the material to real-life contexts. One alternative learning strategy that can be used to overcome this problem is the implementation of peer tutoring. This study aims to describe the role of peer tutors in improving IPS conceptual understanding in students of class VIII-D at SMP Negeri 2 Larangan. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. The research informants numbered eight people, consisting of IPS subject teachers, students who acted as peer tutors, and students participating in peer tutoring activities. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses an interactive model that includes data reduction, data presentation, and verification or drawing conclusions. The research results show that peer tutors contribute to improving students' conceptual understanding, particularly in the indicators of the ability to provide examples and compare social phenomena. More egalitarian learning interactions encourage active student participation and help the process of knowledge construction through discussion and collaboration. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of peer tutors is influenced by the tutor selection system and the duration of activity implementation. Therefore, the development of a more systematic and sustainable peer tutor model is needed to support the improvement of social studies learning quality.
Atiqoh Saadatul Qorina Atiqoh

https://ejournal.iainmadura.ac.id/index.php/sociale/article/view/24062

Mobile Legends is a game that is widely popular among all demographics, particularly teenagers, and can lead to dependency or addiction. The impact of this online game also affects children’s academic performance and behavior, potentially leading to social deviance. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of Mobile Legends on students’ social attitudes. This study is an ex post facto study. The target population consists of all students at SMP Islam Nurul Iman. The sampling technique used was saturation sampling. Data collection methods included observation, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis employed simple linear regression using SPSS software. The results revealed a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.429 with an R-squared value (coefficient of determination) of 0.184, indicating that Mobile Legends has an influence on students’ social attitudes. Changes in social behavior include rarely socializing with peers, becoming easily emotional toward the surrounding environment, reduced interaction with parents, and decreased study time. Efforts to prevent these impacts can be undertaken by parents, teachers, and the adolescents themselves. These include managing playtime and parental guidance in technology use
Sri Ira SuharwatiItaanis TianahAch Sihabuddin
