The research method uses a qualitative-descriptive approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation for half a semester. The subjects of this study were class 3B students of the Interdisciplinary Islamic Studies Program (SII) UNU Yogyakarta. The results of the study indicate that the application of Toafl.com can help students understand question patterns, improve linguistic skills, and help students understand various Arabic language skills, including Istima' (listening), Kalam (speaking), Qira'ah (reading), and Kitabah (writing), according to the CEFR level (A1-C2). In addition, Toafl.com is also able to provide direct feedback, making it an effective tool in identifying weaknesses and potential improvements in students' Arabic language skills. This study recommends a wider integration of Toafl.com into the Arabic language learning curriculum at the college level.
Nanda Siska Safitri, Mohammad Rofiqi, Muhajir, Boby Bagas Purnama, Shosita Manrova Copyright (c) 2025 Alibbaa': Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa Arab https://ejournal.iainmadura.ac.id/index.php/alibbaa/article/view/17201 Thu, 09 Jan 2025 00:00:00 +0700 The Application of the Loud Reading Strategy (Al Qira’ah Al Jahriyyah) Based on Pop-Up Books in Enhancing Arabic Reading Skills https://ejournal.iainmadura.ac.id/index.php/alibbaa/article/view/15978
This study employs an action research method to evaluate the effectiveness of a read-aloud strategy using pop-up books in improving Arabic reading skills among 20 students of Class VI B at Nurul Amal Elementary School, Bandung. The research, conducted over two cycles, addresses challenges such as difficulty understanding Arabic texts and a lack of engaging learning media, which led to low reading interest and skills. In the pre-cycle phase, students achieved an average score of 40.5, with only 10% learning success. This improved in Cycle I, with an average score of 74.5 (45% success), and further in Cycle II, with an average score of 89.25 (85% success). A Likert-scale questionnaire also showed an 87.8% positive response. The findings conclude that the read-aloud strategy with pop-up books effectively enhances students' Arabic reading skills and engagement
Nur Fitriyani, Rinaldi Supriadi, Kristie Agustika Putri, Yayan Nurbayan, Kasver Mathiessen Copyright (c) 2025 Alibbaa': Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa Arab https://ejournal.iainmadura.ac.id/index.php/alibbaa/article/view/15978 Fri, 10 Jan 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Curiosity-Driven Learning in Arabic: A Case Study on the 'Inquiring Minds Want to Know' Approach https://ejournal.iainmadura.ac.id/index.php/alibbaa/article/view/17881
This study aims to analyze the implementation of the "Inquiring Minds Want to Know" learning model in Arabic language instruction at MTsN 3 Tulungagung. The model was chosen to address the gap between students' desire to learn and their ability to cultivate curiosity. This research employed a phenomenological qualitative approach, utilizing interviews, observations, and documentation for data collection. The findings reveal that the implementation of the "Inquiring Minds Want to Know" learning model in Arabic language instruction follows four main stages: (1) formulating questions that stimulate students' interest in learning and discussion, (2) providing opportunities for students to make predictions or guesses, (3) recording all student predictions without immediately providing answers to maintain curiosity, and (4) using questions as a bridge to connect learning materials and delivering appropriate answers throughout the learning process. This learning model has proven effective in enhancing students' active participation and critical thinking skills in the context of Arabic language learning.
intan dewi, Ahmad Nurcholis, Izzatul Laila, Juan Acevedo, Moumen El-Sayed Copyright (c) 2025 Alibbaa': Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa Arab https://ejournal.iainmadura.ac.id/index.php/alibbaa/article/view/17881 Wed, 22 Jan 2025 10:20:19 +0700 Tathwîr al-Rusûm al-Hazliyyah al-Raqmiyyah 'alâ Tathbîq Canva li Ta'lîmi Mahârati al-Qirâah Ladâ Thullâbi al-Madrasati al-Ibtidâiyyah al-Islâmiyyah bi Indonesia https://ejournal.iainmadura.ac.id/index.php/alibbaa/article/view/17624
This research aims to develop digital comics using the Canva application to teach reading skills, assess their validity, and analyze students’ interests and responses. Results showed that the educational medium was highly effective, receiving scores of 87.6% from subject experts and 84% from media experts, categorized as "very good." Students' responses also indicated a high level of interest, with a score of 85%, classified as "very good." These findings demonstrate that developing digital comics via the Canva application is a valid and effective solution for enhancing students' reading interest and improving their comprehension of reading materials.
Tiara Sabilla, Toto Edidarmo , Achmad Fudhaili, Shahid Seif al Din, Jawhar Youssef Copyright (c) 2025 Alibbaa': Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa Arab https://ejournal.iainmadura.ac.id/index.php/alibbaa/article/view/17624 Wed, 22 Jan 2025 13:11:00 +0700 Developing an Innovative Board Game Using a Cooperative Learning Approach to Foster Interest in Learning Arabic https://ejournal.iainmadura.ac.id/index.php/alibbaa/article/view/17834
The background of the study shows that students' low interest in learning is influenced by the use of monotonous teacher teaching styles and the rare use of learning media due to limited time and teacher ability to make learning media. This study aims to develop board game media using a cooperative learning approach to increase students' interest in learning Arabic at SD Muhammadiyah 8 Banjarmasin. This development research uses the ADDIE model to design and evaluate the effectiveness of board game media. The study results showed that the developed board game media received a "very feasible" category from the media, language, and material validators and met the practicality criteria of 3.80 based on student responses in grade 5 of SD Muhammadiyah 8 Banjarmasin. The implementation of a cooperative learning-based board game has proven to be effective in fostering a more interactive and engaging learning environment, enhancing student participation, and significantly increasing their interest in learning Arabic.
Annida Zulfa, Hamsi Mansur, Monry Fraick Nicky Gillian Ratumbuysang, Martine Warren, Terry Harris Copyright (c) 2025 Alibbaa': Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa Arab https://ejournal.iainmadura.ac.id/index.php/alibbaa/article/view/17834 Thu, 30 Jan 2025 18:51:26 +0700 Mind Mapping as an Innovation in Reading and Writing Learning: A Study of Understanding Arabic Texts https://ejournal.iainmadura.ac.id/index.php/alibbaa/article/view/15963
This research explores the application of the mind mapping method in the qira’ah and kitabah learning at the Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Yogyakarta. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were gathered through observations, interviews with lecturer and students, and questionnaires distributed to students. The findings show that the use of mind mapping significantly facilitates students in understanding Arabic texts and enhances their creativity in presenting the main ideas from those texts. Additionally, mind mapping boosts students' motivation, creating a more engaging and interactive learning experience. Despite some initial challenges in implementation, such as difficulties faced by some students, the method overall succeeded in creating a more enjoyable learning environment. This research suggests additional exploration and development of mind mapping in Arabic teaching to increase its effectiveness.
Zulfa Tsalitsatul Muna, Nur Hidayah, Muhajir, Ashley Le Souef, Alyssa Devaney Copyright (c) 2025 Alibbaa': Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa Arab https://ejournal.iainmadura.ac.id/index.php/alibbaa/article/view/15963 Thu, 30 Jan 2025 20:05:00 +0700 Denotative and Connotative Meanings in the Dialogue of Capernaum: A Semiotic Approach to Nadine Labaki’s Work https://ejournal.iainmadura.ac.id/index.php/alibbaa/article/view/18158
The study of denotative and connotative meanings in the Arabic language remains limited, particularly regarding how meanings evolve within social and ideological contexts in films. Most previous research has predominantly focused on semantic analysis without considering the connotative aspects that shape social perceptions and representations. This study aims to analyze the denotative and connotative meanings of selected Arabic words using a qualitative approach through the perspective of Roland Barthes' Semiotics. Data were collected through non-participant observation and note-taking, while analysis was conducted using extralingual referential analysis, employing both comparative and contrastive methods. The findings reveal that words such as قيود, الجحيم, الإيجار, خادمة, and الهارب in the film Capernaum carry connotative meanings that reflect social constraints, suffering, exploitation, oppression, and the loss of identity. This study affirms that language is not merely a tool for communication but also an ideological instrument that represents social realities. This study implies that connotative meaning can enrich linguistic studies and provide deeper insights into language use across various social and cultural contexts.
Fitria Meisyaroh, Dayudin Dayudin, Rohanda Rohanda Copyright (c) 2025 Alibbaa': Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa Arab https://ejournal.iainmadura.ac.id/index.php/alibbaa/article/view/18158 Thu, 30 Jan 2025 21:28:52 +0700
