Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Articles written for Al Manhaj Journal include scientific papers on Islamic Family Law in the form of conceptual ideas, literature studies, or research results from various perspectives.
The following are the provisions on article writing in Al Manhaj Journal. That is:

  1. The script must be scientific in form of conceptual ideas or research results;
  2. The script must be original and have never been published in any media;
  3. The script must be written in Indonesian or English, on A4 paper size, 1 space, about 13-20 pages;
  4. The script is directly sent via OJS Journal Al Manhaj;
  5. The author must complete the data fields available in the OJS account;
  6. It is preferable to use the available journal template;
  7. The authors must be willing to follow the editing process set by the Editor;
  8. Authors are encouraged to write references based on The Chicago Manual of Style 16th Edition and recommended to use Mendeley application;

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
Structure of the Manuscripts

The title of the manuscript: The title should be informative and written both briefly and clearly. It cannot diverse multi interpretations. It has to be pinpointed with the issues that will be discussed. The beginning word is written in a capital case and symmetrically. The article title does not contain any uncommon abbreviation. The main ideas should be written first and followed then by their explanations. The article title should be written within twelve words, in 13pt-sized font, with the bold selection, and in the center text format.
Author’s names and institutions. The author's name should be accompanied by the author's institution, institution's address, and email address, without any academic titles or job titles.
Abstract. Abstracts are written in Indonesian and English. An abstract is made in one paragraph which consists of the background, objective, research methods, results, and conclusions. The abstract has to be within 250 words maximum and followed by four to five keywords.
Introduction: The introduction must contain (shortly and consecutively) a general background and a literature review (state of the art) as the basis of the brand new research question, statements of the brand new scientific article, main research problems, and the hypothesis. In the final part of the introduction, the purpose of the article writing should be stated. In the scientific article format, it does not allow writing down the references as in the research report. They should be represented in the literature review to show the brand-new of scientific article.
Methods: The method aims to solve problems, including analytical methods. The methods used in the problem-solving of the research are explained in this part.
Discussion and Result: Discussion and Result be written in the same part. They should be presented continuously starting from the main result until supporting results and equipped with a discussion. Figures and tables (if any) should be put in the same part of this section.
Conclusion: This is the final part containing conclusions and advice. The conclusions will be the answers of the hypothesis, the research purposes, and the research discoveries. The conclusion should not contain only the repetition of the results and discussions. It should be the summary of the research results as the author expects in the research purposes or the hypothesis. The advices contain suggestions associated with further ideas from the research.
Bibliography: All the references used in the article must be listed in this part and must be taken from primary sources (75% of all the references) published in the last ten years. Each article should have at least ten references.
