REINTERPRETASI ADAT PERNIKAHAN SUKU BUGIS SIDRAP SULAWESI SELATAN

Adat Istiadat dalam pernikahan Suku Bugis telah mengalami pergeseran nilai seiring perkembangan zaman dan pengaruh era globalisasi. Tanggapan miring pun tidak terelakkan, namun hal tersebut seyogyanya disikapi secara arif dan bijaksana. Untuk itu, perlu reinterpretasi makna adat pernikahan suku Bugis yang sesunguhnya, mengambil nilai-nilai positif pada setiap prosesi adat pernikahan, serta menambahkan nilai-nilai baru yang sesuai dengan semangat dan prinsip adat istiadat suku Bugis.
Abstract:
Marriage custom among the Bugis people has shifted in values due to globalization and modernization. Consequently, negative response was inevitable. However, the response should be addressed wisely. This article is aimed to re-interpret the meanings of marriage among the Bugis. It is also to address some positive values in every stages of customary marriage, new meanings and values which in turn restoring the spirit and principles within the marriage custom.
