Abstract
Muslim guna mengembangkan kreatifitas dan inovasi di
berbagai bidang termasuk untuk menjawab kegelisahan
menyangkut anjloknya prestasi di bidang teknologi, ilmu
pengetahuan, dan pertahanan. Namun tulisan ini tidak
dalam rangka mendeskripsikan apa yang menjadi simpul
penyebab anjloknya berbagai prestasi kaum Muslim. Tulisan
ini sifatnya in look untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran bahwa
kedua pendekatan tersebut sudah digunakan oleh para
pemikir muslim pada masa keemasan perdaban Islâm di
masa lampau. Terminologi pembaharuan, semisal tajdîd,
islâh, dan segala sesuatu yang berhubungan dengan inovasi
dan kreatifitas sudah menjadi kosakata kaum muslim sejak
abad ke-2 Hijriah. Dan kesemuanya itu terjabarkan dengan
jelas dalam pemahaman, sikap, tindakan, dan produk yang
telah dihasilkan dan dinikmati oleh dunia.
