Abstract

Teachers carry out teaching and learning activities using learning models. This corresponds to activities that exist in the real world, factual situations, problem-based learning methodology helps students develop their critical thinking and problem solving abilities. The aim of this research is to test the function and use of problem-based learning models in relation to mixed computing materials, thematic materials, critical thinking, and mathematical communication skills. This research uses literature studies, as well as data analysis techniques in this research using content analysis data analysis techniques. The analysis findings show the impact of the problem-based learning paradigm on mathematics education, because it can be implemented in lower and upper elementary school classes. To help students become more proficient in mathematics, the compatibility of the problem-based learning model with the content and learning resources used is important. Students' ability to solve mathematical problems is positively influenced by the Problem Based Learning Model (PBL). Of course, this learning model can foster critical thinking, active learning, and growth in students' understanding of the subject matter.
