OKARA: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra, the journal of language and literature of the State Islamic Institute of Madura, welcomes Dr. Willy A. Renandya and Prof. Dr. Yunisrina Qismullah Yusuf, S.Pd., M.Ling. to its International Peer Reviewers.
Dr. Willy A Renandya is a language teacher educator with extensive teaching experience in Asia. He currently teaches Applied Linguistics courses at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He has given more than 100 keynote presentations at international ELT conferences and has published extensively in the area of second language education. His publications include Language Teaching Methodology: An anthology of current practice (2002, Cambridge University Press) and Student-centred cooperative learning (2019, Springer International). He maintains a large teacher professional development forum called Teacher Voices: https://www.facebook.com/groups/teachervoices/. He is also on the boards of many International journals of language studies from Indonesia, such as TEFLIN Journal, International Journal of Applied Linguistics (IJAL), and also SIELE: Studies in English Language Education. Prof. Dr. Yunisrina Qismullah Yusuf, S.Pd., M.Ling. was born in Banda Aceh on June 17, 1980. She is a Professor at the Department of English Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Syiah Kuala. Her Bachelor's degree is in English Education, which she received in 2002 from Universitas Syiah Kuala. She completed her Master's in Linguistics in 2006 and Ph.D. in Phonology in 2013, both from the Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. Her supervisor was Prof. Dr. Stefanie Pillai. She was promoted to a Full Professor in the field of Phonology/Linguistics in 2021. Her articles have appeared in a number of reputable journals such as Language & Linguistics, Language & Communication, Language Sciences, Sage Open, and Kasetsart Journal of Social Sciences, among others. She also acts as a reviewer for a number of national and international journals. She is currently the editor-in-chief of Studies in the English Language and Education journal (SCOPUS Q1). This is the first journal at Universitas Syiah Kuala to be indexed in Scopus. Her research interests are in the field of linguistics, English education, and literature.
