Abstract
Di antara pelajaran penting dalam pembelajaran Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam adalah mengambil hikmah umat sebelumnya untuk senantiasa dilestarikan dan dikembangkan. Namun, upaya menyerap nilai-nilai positif dari proses pembelajaran tersebut dinilai masih kurang maksimal. Hal ini disebabkan oleh cara berpikir konvensional dalam mempelajari Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam. Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam hanya sekedar antikuarianisme, yaitu suatu bentuk kisah masa lalu umat Islam yang secara substansial masih belum bisa membuahkan spirit progresivitas untuk kehidupan umat saat ini dan selanjutnya. Maka dari itu diperlukan suatu pendekatan peristiwa sejarah dari pelbagai segi, yakni melalui pendekatan multi dimensional dengan metode interdisipliner.
