Abstract
Madrasah merupakan salah satu institusi pendidikan Islam yang perlu mendapatkan perhatian dalam pengelolaannya, karena keberhasilan madrasah juga merupakan keberhasilan pendidikan Islam. Salah satu model pengelolaan madrasah yang kini sedang diimplementasikan adalah melalui pola Manajemen Peningkatan Mutu Berbasis Madrasah (MPMBM). Bentuk peningkatan mutu dengan pola MPMBM ini menekankan pada kemampuan madrasah dalam hal pengelolaannya. Dengan pola ini, peran kepala madrasah sebagai salah satu unsur terpenting dalam pengelolaan madrasah sangat dibutuhkan. Kepala madrasah mempunyai tanggungjawab penuh terhadap kemajuan dan keberhasilan madrasah. Melalui pola MPMBM, diharapkan madrasah dapat lebih meningkat dan berkembang.
