Abstract
Dalam realitas aktual kehidupan masyarakat Muslim telah terjadi proses ketimpangan dalam relasi gender yang betul-betul berlawanan dengan semangat fitri Islam yang sangat menjunjung tinggi dan mendambakan kesetaraan gender, kesetaraan laki-laki dan perempuan. Ketimpangan dimaksud seringkali dijustifikasi oleh tafsir ajaran agama, sehingga untuk mengubahnya, sangat diperlukan kemauan secara kultural dan struktural dalam mengubah paradigma pendidikan agama Islam menuju equalitas gender. Tulisan ini berusaha mendeskripsikan pendidikan agama berbasis kesetaraan gender dengan mengemukakan beberapa model strategi dalam aplikasinya.
